The Autumn market is upon us which is a busy period for moving and letting in particular. The Renters Reform Act has now been with us for five months and the market has adjusted to the new regime, which requires agents to look even closer at potential tenants before agreeing a long term let. The press is full of stories of Landlords leaving the market, although Pearsons have not experienced this overall with the properties we manage. Rents are still continuing their upward trend, with shortages of family homes a particular problem. It is essential though that rents are regularly reviewed and increased annually if out of line with the market. Delaying a rent increase, may cause you issues in the future and we are ready to assist you with this process.
Pearsons continues to believe that there is still a place in the market for small scale landlords, provided that they concentrate on good quality properties, maintaining them in good condition, and thus yielding a good and consistent income in return.
If you are considering entering the rental market as a landlord, please speak to your local branch, who will be happy to discuss local property needs and likely rental outcomes.
