Mayflower Park, turning water into land

Part of the exciting Royal Pier development is the planned renovation of Mayflower Park. Today’s crumbling site will become a thriving place with a casino, 250-bed five-star hotel, gourmet market, about 730 apartments, 47,000sq m of office space and between 40 and 50 shops, restaurants, cafes and bars all ranged along the waterfront.

Some of the exciting new proposal would see the park extended through the reclamation of land from the sea to include a new ‘hub’ building which could provide space for cultural, arts and technology uses plus a 98 ft high monument to the iconic Spitfire aircraft.

One of the first new residents of the area could well be the internationally famous PSP Southampton Boat Show.  We’re proud and delighted to have a flagship office, providing all the key property services from sales and lettings to mortgage advice, right at the heart of this thriving city, which is building an exciting future on the firm foundations of its past.

Pearsons Gold Cup Trophy

Pearsons Hythe office are delighted to be sponsoring a race at the upcoming Hythe Sea Scouts fund raising evening on Saturday 16 September.  The Scout group need to raise £80,000 to complete works to save the hut from severe coastal erosion.  The race has been named the "Pearsons Gold Cup Trophy" and the Pearsons horse running has been named "Pearsonality".

The sea is now washing up against the Scouts' boundary fence threatening both the site and hut.  Hythe Sea Scouts have offered fantastic opportunities for hundreds of local children for the last four decades.

If you would like to show your support for this very worthy cause tickets for the Charity Race Night are £5 per person and includes a ploughman's supper and a licensed cash bar.

An excited Portsmouth awaits the arrival of the Royal Navy's brand new flagship HMS Queen Elizabeth

An excited Portsmouth awaits the arrival of the Royal Navy's brand new flagship HMS Queen Elizabeth.

"The arrival of HMS Queen Elizabeth is going to be a once-in-a-lifetime occasion for most of the residents in Portsmouth" said Councillor Donna Jones, city council leader.

The aircraft carrier is currently undergoing sea trials and is anticipated to arrive sometime within the next few weeks but as yet there is no official confirmation from the Royal Navy.

The first of these major enhancements is aiming to be welcoming visitors by Christmas 2017 - the new £85m West Quay Watermark development. The design of the new scheme includes upper and lower walkways with restaurants and cafes as well as a 10-screen cinema and bowling alley set above. There will also be a new, impressive public square in front of the city’s historic wall which will be used for open air screenings and concerts.  It’s reckoned that Watermark will create around 500 jobs and is seen as the cornerstone of several massive projects in the city, from the £400m plus Royal Pier development to recently revealed plans to rebuild Leisure World.

Southampton grows from strength to strength

In the last edition of Dwell we commented that Southampton was already one of the South Coast’s leading cities, a place that had it all - from high employment levels, two leading universities, first class football and cricket and excellent transport connections to unrivalled shopping, leisure, entertainment and sports facilities. On top of which the city boasted its own unique maritime history and culture.

Well, in the coming years there are major transformations happening that are going to make the city an even more attractive destination of choice for everybody, from home renters to home buyers and university students to relocating enterprises.


Pearsons July Auction Roundup

Our July auction saw increased activity in the room which resulted in more bidding and a better sales conversion rate.

At the current time seven of the twelve lots have been sold, with three of the larger properties in Southampton generating particularly high levels of enquiries.

Of the remaining three, we are unsure whether they will reappear in our next auction on Wednesday 30th August but all clients are still keen to sell if the opportunity arises. They are all vacant and keys are available for a quick inspection.
