Winter Walks in the New Forest

The spectacular natural scenery of the New Forest is breathtaking in winter, making it the perfect destination for walkers and photographers.

With 193,000 acres of ancient woodland to explore, you can witness the colourful shades of autumn trees as they transform into the bare frost-covered branches of winter.

The New Forest has expanses of open heathland and forests of deciduous trees alongside streams and coastlines. There are around 143 miles of tracks for walking and cycling that take you through a variety of landscapes. Fortunately, there are also plenty of car parks along all New Forest walking routes, so you can make your walk as long or short as you wish.
